In 1993, Burland was founded to address the challenging issue of managing office furniture cables, power, and data distribution, which were becoming increasingly demanding due to the widespread use of PCs and other equipment in offices. However, the systems furniture industry was slow to adapt and improve designs to meet these new requirements. Burland’s first patented product, the “Burland Box,” presented a simple and effective solution for connecting power distribution at the desk level to building services.

Since its inception, Burland has consistently grown by steadily increasing its market share, introducing new products, exploring international opportunities, and forming strategic partnerships with select specialised suppliers like A H Meyer and Minibatt. The company is entirely owned and managed by the Vass family, and it receives dedicated support from a highly competent team of staff based at its Suffolk headquarters.
